Before setting up Equator Media, Michael worked across a diverse range of industries that included charity, farming, manufacturing, media, music and sailing.

He has always had a fascination for people, cultures and geography, and these are the driving forces for his passion for social and environmental change. Michael has developed national programmes to create a more entrepreneurial Britain, and his clients have included UNESCO, AFFORD, COI, Channel 4, Orange, Sony, Home Office and Treasury.

Tommy Hutchinson is chair of the trustees of the innovative youth charity Kikass and founder of I-GENIUS.

He is founder / director of a number of organisations - Eurobandits, which communicates the opportunities of modern Europe, and Equator Media.

Once an aerospace analyst for NatWest Markets, he subsequently became political adviser to the NatWest Group and director of Industry Forum. He was also founder of CHAMP, which helps to promote peace in Northern Ireland and ran against former Conservative leader Iain Duncan Smith for a seat in Parliament in the 1997 general election. He is a Fellow of the Industry & Parliament Trust and co-authored A Risky Business, which looks at the nature of risk in society.
